Background
Established since 1970, Darwen Diesels Ltd is the largest independent UK distributor of Diesel Fuel Injection
Components and Diesel Common Rail Test and Diagnostic Equipment, supplying specialist tools for the timing, removal, dismantling, repair and re-assembly of all makes of Diesel Fuel Pumps and Diesel Fuel Injectors.Manufacturing Concern
Darwen Diesels required a modern website that was partially updateable, to enable them to add modify and remove information via an online content management system (CMS).
They also required 1000 products from their in-house database to be imported into their new website, so the products could be found by product number, section code or keywords, plus an RSS feed of their latest products that their customers could subscribe to.
The project was part-funded by the Manufacturing Institute.
Results
- The new website and technical documents are consistenlty ranked on Page 1 of Google when searching for product keywords and Part Codes;
- Changes to their product database are instantly available to customers via the website;
- The new website is used to promote company news and upcoming events;
- Darwen Diesels' customer base has increased tenfold as a direct result of the investment in their new website.
The Future
Manufacturing is under severe pressure in the current economic climate, but Darwen Diesels remains very strong and optimistic about the future. Sales and enquiries have grown significantly since the launch of the new website, and their ability to manage content ensures the site can remain up-to-date and ahead of the competition.
